Abbotsford Police Investigating Fatal Collision on Townshipline Road

Abbotsford, BC – July 7th, 2026 – At approximately 7:05 p.m. this evening, Abbotsford Police Patrol officers responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision in the 32900 block of Townshipline Road.

Emergency crews arrived on scene to find a single vehicle that had left the roadway and struck a hydro pole. Two occupants were extricated from the vehicle by first responders. Despite extensive life-saving efforts by first responders, the passenger succumbed to their injuries at the scene. The driver was transported to hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

The investigation remains in its early stages, with investigators working to determine the circumstances that led to the collision. The Abbotsford Police Department is being assisted by the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) as the investigation progresses.

Townshipline Road remains closed in both directions between Gladwin Road and Riverside Street and is expected to remain closed for several hours while investigators process the scene.
