Volunteer Opportunities
The Abbotsford Police Department uses volunteers to reach out to the community offering information, education on Crime Prevention and service to the community. There are volunteer opportunities in many programs such as Citizens Patrol, Community Police Office, Speed Watch, Special Events, Victim Services and many other avenues.
Volunteer Minimum Qualification Requirements:
- Minimum 18 years of age (some positions may require a minimum age of 19 years)
 - Canadian Citizenship, Permanent Residency or valid IRCC Canadian Study or Work Permit
 - No criminal convictions for which a pardon has not been granted
 - Ability to pass and maintain required security clearance(s) including drivers’ abstract
 - Demonstrated access to reliable transportation to and from the volunteer site/position
 - Demonstrated required English language fluency (reading, written, and oral)
 
Volunteer Minimum Commitment Requirements:
- Commitment to 1 year of Volunteer service following training
 - Commitment to attend all relevant training sessions
 - Commitment to attend scheduled Volunteer meetings
 - Commitment to AbbyPD Code of Ethics, Confidentiality Agreement, Volunteer Agreement and relevant organizational policies and procedures
