Why Is the AbbyPD Community Survey Necessary?

The AbbyPD community survey is designed to help shape the AbbyPD’s Strategic Plan. Community feedback ensures that our priorities reflect the needs and concerns of the community we serve. By sharing your thoughts on safety, approachability, and visibility, you play a vital role in guiding how we enhance services and build a stronger, safer Abbotsford.

AbbyPD’s 2025 Community Survey Rollout

AbbyPD’s 2025 Community Survey campaign featured extensive engagement efforts to ensure broad community input. The survey launched on June 6, 2025, and closed on August 31, 2025, generating 4,101 responses—a 13.57% increase from 2022. Outreach included delivering 8,000 door hangers citywide, engaging 8 Block Watch groups and 9 Strata complexes, and hosting 13 pop-up booths in public spaces.

Our team attended 41 community events, where volunteers and reserves facilitated on-site survey completion using iPads and provided Punjabi translation support. Awareness was amplified through four print ads, multiple social media posts, and mobile promotion via our community cruiser. Inclusivity was prioritized through booths at three South Asian temples and partnerships with organizations such as Tourism Abbotsford, Indo-Canadian Business Association, Downtown Abbotsford Business Association, and the Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce. These efforts reflect our commitment to building a stronger, safer, and more connected community.

So, What’s Next?

AbbyPD has officially begun its strategic planning process to develop a new Strategic Plan that will guide policing priorities and community safety for the years ahead. This plan represents an evolution from previous strategies and will be inclusive, evidence-based, and aligned with statutory responsibilities. Community input is essential—your voice matters. The feedback received through the Community Safety Survey will be used to ensure the plan reflects the needs of Abbotsford residents. The final Strategic Plan will strengthen safety, trust, and service excellence across our community.
