Single Motor Vehicle Collision on Gladys Avenue, Abbotsford, BC

On June 9th, 2023, at 8:43 pm, AbbyPD Patrols Officers responded to the 2800 block of Gladys Ave for a report of a vehicle that had rolled over into a water-filled ditch.

Arriving at the scene, members of the Abbotsford Police Department, Abbotsford Fire Rescue Service, and BC Ambulance Service successfully extricated the single occupant of the vehicle, a 59-year-old male who had suffered life-threatening injuries.

The male was transported to hospital with serious and life-threatening injuries being placed in the care of medical staff.

At this point, the factors that lead to the event's cause are unknown. AbbyPD and members of the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) are investigating, leading to the road closure in the area.

Investigators are seeking witnesses and dashcam footage from those who may have been driving northbound on Gladys Ave, just before the intersection of Sumas Way and Hwy 11, between 8:00 pm and 9:00 pm. If you can assist, please call the Abbotsford Police Department at 604-859-5225
