Abbotsford, BC – June 9th, 2026 – During the first five months of this year, the Abbotsford Police Department has responded to 72 business break and enters across the city. For comparison, AbbyPD officers attended 178 such incidents throughout all of 2025.
On May 19th, 2026, AbbyPD Patrol officers responded to an overnight break and enter at a business in the 2200 block of Townline Road. Just days later, on May 26th, Patrol officers attended another overnight break and enter at a local business in the 31100 block of Peardonville Road. Detectives from AbbyPD’s Crime Reduction Unit took over the investigation and identified similarities between the two incidents and quickly identified and arrested a suspect.
On May 27th 38-year-old Devon Reeve was formally charged with two counts of break and enter in relation to these incidents.
AbbyPD’s Crime Reduction Unit plays a key role in identifying repeat offenders, enforcing court-ordered conditions, and disrupting criminal activity. Their proactive work remains critical to reducing property crime and enhancing safety throughout Abbotsford.
