AbbyPD Investigates Overnight Fatal Collision on Highway 11

Abbotsford, BC – July 31st, 2025 – At approximately 1:34 a.m. this morning, frontline officers from the Abbotsford Police Department responded to a serious collision in the northbound lanes of Highway 11 near Townshipline Road. The incident involved a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle.

Upon arrival, emergency personnel located a heavily damaged Kawasaki motorcycle and a Jeep Compass. Despite the efforts of first responders, the motorcyclist succumbed to their injuries at the scene. The driver of the Jeep sustained non-life-threatening injuries and received medical treatment.

Preliminary findings suggest that speed and alcohol are contributing factors in the collision.

The investigation is in its early stages and is being supported by the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS). Northbound Highway 11 remains closed between Clayburn Road and Harris Road, with reopening anticipated by 9:00 a.m.
