Abbotsford, BC – October 6th, 2026 – The Abbotsford Police Department (AbbyPD) is proud to announce the creation of the Abbotsford Public Safety Collaboration Hub, a shared storefront located at Highstreet Shopping Centre that will bring together the AbbyPD, the Abbotsford Restorative Justice and Advocacy Association (ARJAA), and the Abbotsford Police Foundation (APF) under one roof.
Scheduled to open its doors in January 2027, the Hub will be a collaborative and accessible community space dedicated to enhancing public safety, supporting community well-being, and strengthening partnerships across Abbotsford.
As a visible and welcoming community resource, the Hub will provide a central location for community safety and well-being programming, restorative justice services, and public education initiatives. By bringing complementary organizations together in a neutral, community-focused environment, it will strengthen collaboration, improve service coordination, and enhance public safety outcomes.
A key focus of the Hub will be fostering meaningful community engagement through programs and services tailored to the needs of youth, seniors, and newcomers. The Hub will also provide flexible community space for workshops, youth-focused initiatives, crime prevention programs, and community meetings, creating opportunities for learning, connection, and collaboration.
The Hub is made possible through the combined contributions of the three partner organizations, the generosity of Abbotsford Police Foundation donors, funding provided through the Province of British Columbia’s Community Safety and Targeted Enforcement (CSTEP) Program, and the valued support of Highstreet Shopping Centre. Together, these investments reflect a shared commitment to enhancing community safety, strengthening community well-being, and fostering meaningful engagement throughout Abbotsford.
Chief Constable Colin Watson
“Public safety today requires more than traditional approaches. It requires creativity, strong partnerships, and services that are accessible and connected to the people we serve. The Abbotsford Public Safety Collaboration Hub is an example of what can be achieved when organizations come together with a shared commitment to community well-being and safety. By bringing the Abbotsford Police Department, the Abbotsford Restorative Justice and Advocacy Association, and the Abbotsford Police Foundation together in a welcoming and accessible space, we are creating new opportunities to collaborate and strengthen community connections.
This innovative model is cost effective and aligns directly with the priorities outlined in our Strategic Framework, which emphasizes partnership, community engagement, and a proactive approach to enhancing safety and well-being. The Hub represents another step toward the future of public safety in Abbotsford, one that is collaborative, community-focused, and built on the understanding that lasting safety is achieved together”.
Chris Lenshyn – Executive Director Abbotsford Restorative Justice and Advocacy Association
“For 25 years, Abbotsford Restorative Justice and Advocacy Association has worked to repair harm, restore relationships, rebuild trust and transform the community of Abbotsford, holding with care the humanity we share. In this Public Safety Collaboration Hub, we look forward to bringing that same intentionality and care alongside AbbyPD and the Abbotsford Police Foundation, centering the voices of those impacted, inviting accountability from those who have caused harm, and building the kind of just relationships that make our community strong enough to face its deepest divisions. We are excited for the impact and innovation this collaborative will bring to Abbotsford."
Sandy Blue – President of the Abbotsford Police Foundation
"The Abbotsford Police Foundation is thrilled to partner in launching the Abbotsford Public Safety Collaboration Hub. This new storefront gives us a welcoming space to connect with the community and showcase the many ways we support AbbyPD.
The timing is perfect as we unveil our 'Building What's Next' campaign - an overarching umbrella that expands our capacity to fund critical AbbyPD community initiatives to benefit the entire community - Empowering Seniors, Youth Leadership Program, Movie in the Park, AbbyPD City Basketball, AbbyPD Community Outreach Trailer and many more.
A sincere thank you to the individuals and businesses whose donations helped transform this space. Together, we are building a safer, more connected Abbotsford."
