Abbotsford Police Traffic Unit Investigating Collision Involving Cyclist

Abbotsford, BC – September 30th, 2025 – On the evening of September 28th at approximately 9:58 p.m., frontline officers from the Abbotsford Police Department responded to a serious motor vehicle collision on South Parallel Road, just east of Whatcom Road.

Emergency personnel arrived to find a 32-year-old female cyclist suffering from life-threatening injuries after being struck by a grey Chevy Avalanche. She was airlifted to a hospital in the Vancouver area.

The driver of the Chevy Avalanche and his passenger remained at the scene and are cooperating with investigators. Impairment is not believed to be a factor at this time; however, poor lighting conditions in the area are considered a factor in this collision.

The investigation is in its early stages and is being supported by the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS).

Investigators are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision or may have dashcam footage of the incident to contact the Abbotsford Police Department at 604-859-5225.
