As an integral part of the Human Resources Team, the HR Coordinator serves as first point of contact for day-to-day HR inquiries, helping to resolve and/or route them to the appropriate team member as needed. The HR Coordinator will play a key role in the coordination and execution of AbbyPD's suite of HR programs and services.
Key areas of responsibility:
- Assists with Health, Wellness, & Safety and Disability Management activities and initiatives.
- Coordinates and administers pension and benefits enrollment and administration.
- Coordinates and administers onboarding and offboarding activities.
- Coordinates internal and external recruitment processes, including job postings, interviews and various assessments as required within a policing environment.
- Serves as primary point of contact for, and is accountable for operational flow of, AbbyPD's HRIS and HR specific software systems.
- Contributes to special projects including wellness and organizational development initiatives.
- Provides guidance, within scope, on employee and labour relations, policy, procedural and legislative compliance.
- Coordinates AbbyPD's Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Accessibility Plan and supporting activities.
Candidates must have a diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in HR, or relevant discipline, supplemented by a minimum of two (2) years experience in HR coordination or HR administrative support. Commensurate level education and experience may be considered.
The successful candidate will be a highly resourceful team player who is equally effective independently, with strong interpersonal and communication skills. They are flexible, well organized with a service-oriented mindset. Working knowledge of HR best practices, current labour and employment laws in BC and the ability to interpret collective agreements is required. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe programs, and strong attention to detail is essential. CPHR designation is an asset.

Community Policing VOLUNTEER QUALIFICATIONS
Volunteers must be:
- Clear of a criminal record
- Must be 18 years or older (some programs may require a volunteer to be 19 years or older)
- Must have own transportation to and from their volunteer position
- Ability to read, understand, and communicate effectively in English
- Must pass and maintain a criminal record and drivers abstract
- Must have sufficient time to volunteer

Must be committed to working a minimum of 8 hours a month
Volunteers are expected to adhere to the following:
- One year commitment following training
- Sign agreements on ethics, confidentiality, and a contract
- Attend all sessions of Basic Training and Program Training
- Attend volunteer staff meetings as scheduled
- Must be committed to working a minimum of 8 hours per month
victim services VOLUNTEER QUALIFICATIONS
Volunteers are expected to adhere to the following:
- One year commitment following training;
- Sign agreements on ethics, confidentiality, and a contract
- Attend all sessions of Basic Training
- Work a four hour office shift each week and assist with Crisis Response shifts

Optional: attend workshops and/or conferences as they are available
The qualified applicant will:
- Reside within 30 minutes of our APD Headquarters at 2838 Justice Way
- Be primarily interested in aiding those individuals victimized by crime and trauma
- Have integrity and be able to work effectively within a police environment
- Be committed to working one 4 hour shift in the office each week and two 12 hour on call shifts each month. In addition, be committed to attend all required training sessions and staff meetings
- Be mature and demonstrate good judgment
- Be honest, responsible and reliable
- Have a valid B.C. Class 5 Driver’s Licence and have obtained and maintained provincial vehicle insurance
- Be able to obtain and maintain an enhanced security clearance by the Abbotsford Police Department
- Be of good moral character and conduct and be willing to sign a code of ethics
- Be able to deal with individuals in a non-judgmental, non-prejudicial manner
- Be people oriented and personable
- Be computer literate
- Be able to write and communicate well. Use appropriate language at all times
- Be able to take directions and yet think independently
- Take an oath of confidentiality and understand that any breach of confidentiality is cause for immediate termination
- Present a professional demeanor and adhere to the ascribed dress code
- Be flexible
- Be able to work harmoniously with others
- Be 19 years of age or older
