AbbyPD Community sessions

The Abbotsford Police Department invites students learning at home to connect with local officers!

Community figures, such as AbbyPD officers, are regularly invited to speak in classrooms about their jobs, community contribution, and to answer questions about their work.

However, circumstances today make those classroom visits a challenge.

In response, AbbyPD has put together FREE youth programs which connects students with police officers electronically - all that’s required is a child (age 4 to 18 years of age) with a parent/guardian present and a device able to connect to your ZOOM chat session (phone, tablet, or computer)!

how it works

  1. From the list below find a event you would like to register for and click on the register button.

  2. Fill out the form and once completed you will be emailed the meeting information.

  3. On the date and time, go to the email that was sent after registering and click on the meeting link - IT'S THAT SIMPLE!

Before joining a Zoom meeting on a computer or mobile device, you can download the Zoom app from the Zoom Download Center. Otherwise, you will be prompted to download and install Zoom when you click the join link in the registration email.

Each meeting has a unique 9, 10, or 11-digit number called a meeting ID that will be required to join a Zoom meeting - this will be in your registration email as well.

Upcoming Events:
Each session is 20 minutes long and limited to 20 spots.

Friends/Safety/Ask A Police Officer

This session will introduce a police officer to your children and teach them about some of the things police officers do in Abbotsford. The session also tests their knowledge on important car and bicycle safety and will give your child an opportunity to ask the police officer a couple of questions!

Roadmap/Internet Safety

This session will introduce your child to good decision making and how their decisions can impact their lives. The roadmap will show them a guide on where their life is now – and where it can go! We also cover internet safety as many kids in this age bracket are going online. The do’s and don’ts!

Teen Talk with a Cop

This session is geared for teens on good decision making and the importance of a road map for their lives. We also open the floor to Q&A.

Currently there are no available registrations open.
