The Abbotsford Police Department Gang Prevention Coordinator, Harpreet Jhinjar, supports the PATHWAYS program through the community engagement and prevention pillars. The PATHWAYS program uses evidence-informed strategies to connect with youth and young adults identified as being at-risk for participation in gangs or other criminal activities. The PATHWAYS program aims to divert these individuals from the criminal lifestyle by providing services that address the underlying causes of the risk factors.

The Abbotsford Police department responded to a report of an assault on Friday November 6th, 2020 at 10:43 am in the 32071 blk of South Fraser Way.  The victim, an 88-year-old Abbotsford resident, was walking on the sidewalk at the intersection of SFW at Cedar Park Place when he was shoved and fell to the ground.

Recent calls for service, along with information obtained through various investigations, have led the Abbotsford Police Department to issue public warning that the current opioid crisis has worsened.  The toxicity levels are almost four times more potent and significant health implications causing a spike in drug-related overdoses and deaths is possible.

Last night, Abbotsford Police Gang Crime Unit and Drug Enforcement Officers executed a search warrant as part of a drug trafficking investigation in the 2500 blk of Magnolia Crescent.  Drugs, including fentanyl and cocaine, and a handgun were seized.
